Goal of the formation is providing the students with high-level professional, cultural, ethic, and social education so that they were capable to solve independently complex tasks and to react flexibly to the requirements in the real life. Offered are Bachelor and Master study plans.
Bachelor´s study program prepares its graduates for middle management positions in the companies carrying business in the wood processing, production of basic materials, wooden components, furniture and buildings, and wooden products sales. Bachelor studies are offered in the three-year presence and combined form. After passing the bachelor exam, the graduate obtains a bachelor´s (Bc.) degree.
The bachelor´s program can be followed by the two-year master´s study program. Its graduates are awarded by the title Ing. (inzenyr). Master´s study program is oriented on the application of new technical knowledge in relation to other social and science fields. The education focuses on the complex engineer production activities, material engineering, and design. Taken into account are also requirements of the human living environment safety, qualities of a used product, ecology, and other objective social factors. Students gain knowledge in the field of economics, marketing, IT, and communication to be capable of gaining and organizing new information, presenting independent point of view concerning current social subjects, that he is able to use in practice by return. The specialization links again to the bachelor study fundamentals and provides the students with desired university breadth of views and groundwork for creativity. The studies are completed by a state exam and plea of a thesis.
The students are encouraged to participate in various national and international competitions; the best graduates are offered to stay at the department as Ph.D. students and take the opportunity of scholarship in abroad.
